Connecting Ukrainian and Japanese companies
through
practical, small-scale collaboration.
Borderfree Co., Ltd. launched the Ukraine × Japan Business Bridge Project in 2026 as a pilot initiative. Rather than starting with large-scale strategies, we focus on creating one practical connection at a time: one company, one conversation, one opportunity.
Partner search / Business matching / Meeting support / Market entry support
Our representative first visited Ukraine in 2003. More than two decades later, we have begun looking at the country again — this time through the lens of business, entrepreneurship and future collaboration with Japan.
Ukraine is a country with highly educated people, strong technical capabilities, internationally minded entrepreneurs and companies increasingly looking beyond their domestic market.
At the same time, many Japanese companies have valuable technologies, products and business capabilities but limited experience in building relationships with companies in Ukraine.
We believe useful business relationships can begin before anyone has a grand strategy.
One introduction. One meeting. One small project. That is enough to begin.
Cross-border opportunities often stop before the first meeting even happens. We support the practical early stages — finding the right people, making contact, organizing the conversation and helping both sides decide what should happen next.
We identify potential companies, distributors, clients and collaboration partners based on a specific business need.
We support initial outreach, clarify mutual interests and help turn a potential match into an actual business conversation.
We facilitate English-language meetings, organize key discussion points and help both sides understand what should happen next.
We help adapt proposals, communication and next actions for the other market, and coordinate with specialist partners when needed.
Borderfree is not simply a language support company. Our team members have worked inside Japanese companies, global corporations, international organizations, overseas offices and cross-border projects.
Some of our members have worked for Japanese companies expanding overseas. Others have worked inside multinational companies operating in Japan or across global markets.
Our professional backgrounds include international sales, marketing, banking, manufacturing, technology support, trade operations, international cooperation, education and career development.
That matters because cross-border business is rarely just a language problem.
The real challenge is often understanding how the other organization makes decisions, what information it needs, who needs to be involved and what must happen next.
Overseas sales, multinational corporations, international banking and global manufacturing environments.
Marketing, trade operations, technical support, project coordination and practical business execution.
Professional and academic experience across markets including the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore and the UAE.
International cooperation, education, overseas assignments, language support and multicultural project environments.
Our members' professional backgrounds include experience with organizations and environments such as Apple Japan, Volkswagen in the United States, global financial institutions, Google-related operations, Japanese manufacturers and JICA international cooperation projects. These references describe individual team members' previous professional experience and do not imply current corporate partnerships with Borderfree Co., Ltd.
Our first goal is simple: create one practical collaboration between one Ukrainian company and one Japanese company.
This initiative is currently in its pilot phase. Rather than proposing a large-scale market entry program from day one, we focus on small and concrete experiments: an introduction, a meeting, a market test, a sample order, a pilot project or another realistic first step.
Understand what the company actually wants from the other market.
Identify a small number of relevant potential partners.
Arrange and facilitate the first business conversation.
Define the next practical step and help both sides follow through.
We welcome conversations with companies genuinely interested in exploring a practical opportunity in the other market.
I first visited Ukraine in 2003. More than two decades later, I have begun looking at the country again — this time through the lens of business, entrepreneurship and future collaboration with Japan.
My professional background is not as a Ukraine specialist. It is in making cross-border projects work: connecting people, clarifying roles, facilitating international communication and turning ideas into practical operations.
This project begins from that same approach: start with people, create one useful connection, and build from actual experience.
We do not know yet how large this project will become. Our focus today is simpler: find good companies, create useful conversations and help one opportunity become something real.
